Grammar
From a restful learning approach, students will study grammar from samples taken from classic children’s literature and poetry. The curriculum presents grammar in a clear, orderly way, while simultaneously seeking to cultivate the student’s wonder of language by presenting instruction through narratives and language. Students will learn how to identify parts of a sentence and also be able to understand how words behave in a sentence. The language skills—reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as physical movement, songs and chants—are all incorporated within this model of learning as students actively engage in the grammatical concepts in each lesson. The curriculum utilizes a unique, creative, and orderly method in analyzing the grammatical functions and parts of speech, so that students will find mastery of grammar achievable, meaningful and delightful.
